drunken deceptacons

Remember how I wrote about going home to Virginia for Christmas? Well, I left out a little something we now refer to as “The Disco Christmas Sleepover of 2009,” wherein my best friends and I drank too much and decided to do a dance video.

The background:
The disco theme goes back to my trip to NYC where we took the term disco nap and then extended it to every situation possible, such as the disco shower (which we decided is the perfect name of a 1970s porno), the disco coffee, and the disco debrief (where we break down a particular scenario and offer insight).

The players:
Ry-Ry - My cousin and sporadic bandmate. Ryan is a music loving, world traveling smarty pants who likes to play acoustic versions of Madonna songs on his lip sofa.

Corrie – Big sis to Ryan and mother of three. Corrie is wise, artsy, and is the best advice giver, ever, especially when she’s been drinking. She’s the one behind the camera. Told you she’s wise.

Tina – Also my cousin. Tina is smarter than all of us, but joins along in our shenanigans anyway. She’s the mastermind behind the disco sleepover and also the provider of tasty vegetarian snacks.

Melissa - My BFF. Melissa is the life of every party. She’ll go along with just about anything as long as she can wear sweat pants and drink beer.

Jaimes – Me. I like to dance and will use any excuse to do so. My only complaint with this performance is my lack of elbow room to really get my groove on.

So, here it is, our interpretation of Le Tigre’s “Deceptacon” video.

    Hey Misty! Yes, totally! Just be glad I don’t have footage of you drinking, as I will turn just about anything into a huge production and post it online. Glad you liked the video:)

    We are very entertaining, at least to ourselves. I thinking this year we go even bigger and better. Costumes, perhaps?
